In short

  • Online prices are a guide. After a survey you get a fixed written price.
  • The price only changes if you change the job, or we find something hidden that you approve first.
  • You pay a 15% deposit, then in stages as each part of the work is finished and checked.
  • Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months, on top of your legal rights.

Using this website

The information on this website is general guidance about bathroom renovation. We keep it accurate and up to date, but it isn't a substitute for a survey of your own room. Photos marked as example images show the style of work we do and are not our own projects.

The words, design and logo on this site belong to us. You're welcome to share links to it, but please don't copy its content for commercial use without asking. Links to other websites are provided for convenience, and we're not responsible for their content.

How we handle personal information is explained in our privacy notice.

Online estimates, surveys and quotes

Online estimates are a guide, not an offer. The calculator and price list on this website work from our published prices, so they're usually close. Your room can only be priced exactly once we've seen it. The prices on this website are the full price you pay: we are not VAT-registered, so no VAT is added.

Surveys. A survey costs £100, which we deduct from your final invoice if you go ahead with us. We measure the room, check what's behind the existing bathroom where we can, and talk through layout and products.

Fixed written quote. Within 48 hours of the survey we send a written quote with the scope of work, specification, programme and payment stages. The quote says how long it remains valid.

When the price can change. Only if you change the job, or if we uncover something that couldn't be seen at the survey and is on our extra works list, such as rotten floorboards or damaged pipework. We'll show you the problem, give you a written price for the fix, and wait for your approval before doing any extra work.

Not included unless your quote says so: gas work, asbestos removal, freeholder or managing-agent fees, structural alterations and work outside the bathroom. If you supply products yourself, they aren't part of our price, and you're responsible for them arriving on time, complete and undamaged.

Payments

We never ask for the full price up front. A typical project is paid like this:

Payment stages for a typical bathroom
StageShare of the price
Deposit, to secure your dates15%
First fix complete and pressure-tested25%
Waterproofing flood-tested for 24 hours20%
Tiling complete25%
Final payment after the snag visit15%

Your quote confirms the stages and amounts for your project. Each invoice is due when that stage is complete and you've had the chance to see it.

Your right to cancel

If you agree the contract with us at your home, by phone or online, you have 14 days to cancel without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. To cancel, email or write to us. We'll refund what you've paid within 14 days.

If you ask us to start work within those 14 days and then cancel, you pay for the work done up to that point. You also pay for any products made or ordered to your specification that can't be returned.

If you cancel after the 14 days, you pay for the work done, for products ordered for you that can't be returned, and for any reasonable costs we can't recover.

While we're on site

  • We need access during working hours, use of water and electricity, and a parking or loading arrangement. Any permits needed are listed in your quote.
  • In flats, you're responsible for any consent your lease requires from the freeholder or managing agent.
  • If your home was built before 2000 and we find material that may contain asbestos, we stop work in that area until it's tested.
  • We protect floors and routes through your home, remove waste from site and leave the bathroom clean at the end of each stage.

Our guarantee

Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion. If something we installed fails because of how it was installed, we'll come back and put it right at no cost. Products we supply also carry their manufacturers' warranties, and we pass the details on to you.

The guarantee doesn't cover normal wear and tear, damage or misuse, routine maintenance such as renewing silicone, or products you supplied yourself. It's in addition to your legal rights, including that our work is carried out with reasonable care and skill under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Our responsibility to you

We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We hold public liability insurance of £5m. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.

Complaints

If you're not happy with anything, tell your project manager or email hello@fitmybathroom.co.uk. We'll acknowledge it within 2 working days and aim to resolve it within 10.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
